I have had 4 main careers in my life. So far!

Firstly, I worked in the Stockmarket - on the floor as a Stock Jobber - now known as a Market Maker - trading in Motor shares.

Then, I left after "Big Bang" to work in television and then film production. I have done everything from live floor work, presenting, to serious movie production.

Then - I had two children, 2 yrs 8 months apart, and of course that career is happily ongoing!

Meanwhile - I still did bits and pieces of production but felt very much I wanted to be at home, so decided to train as an Image Stylist - 'doing' people's colours, sorting out their wardrobes and then the personal shopping. This I can do while the girls are at school. Perfect and I love it.

Everyone that comes to me often have some or other problem with esteem. Seems to be a woman's lot. I can relate to this as I have suffered my whole life with severe eczema - but not on my face - so, although it was mostly hidden, it affected me deeply. I now run an Eczema Support Group to help others with it, or have children with it - to teach them ways of coping, both mentally and physically. Starting with NEVER say "Stop Scratching" (Aargh!)

Plus. I have had to add another page to this website, as in June 2008, I suddenly developed alopecia

areata - what a terrible shock! More self-esteem battering!

So, although I know I get paid for the personal styling, it is really very much a giving thing. Women (of varying reasons and ages, for various reasons) who are lost in direction, not only in clothing but in themselves, come to me and leave feeling bolstered and full of excitement at their new self!

I mention only women, as men seem to steer clear ...as I write. I do seem to get some amazing instinct as I work with people, and it is an intimate thing - especially when doing the colours and talking about personality and needs.

My favourite thought when in doubt? Two sentences sent to me in black and white on a postcard "EVERYTHING WILL BE OKAY IN THE END. IF IT'S NOT OKAY, IT'S NOT THE END". Perfect.
